Flag marshal holding a yellow flag during rider briefing at Murray Valley Training Centre

Flag Marshals:

  • Yellow Flag – Caution: Something ahead needs your attention, could be something on the track, a stopped bike or someone might have gone down. Roll off the throttle, keep your line and absolutely no overtaking. Scan for the hazard; once the next flag point shows no flag you may resume normal pace.
  • Red Flag – Session Stopped: The track is closed, usually for a crash or fluid spill. Ease off smoothly (no panic braking), raise a hand or stick a boot out to alert riders behind, then complete the lap at reduced speed and return to the pits for instructions.
  • Black Flag – Safety Warning: Displayed and pointing at you when there’s an issue with you, could be your riding or your machine. Get off the racing line and exit the track once you've completed that lap, come and see us, we’ll address whatever the problem may be and look to get you back out there asap
  • Chequered Flag – End of Session: Finish your current lap at a relaxed pace, enter the pits on the next lap and clear the circuit so the next group can roll out. Red flag at marshal point reinforces that the session has ended.

Respectful Rider Conduct Protects Everyone

No wheelies, burnouts or erratic line changes; stay hydrated, and rested. Ride at your pace, focus on your lines and be smooth, you’ll find the track flows really well and you’ll have a lot of fun out there.

Emergency Protocols Mean Help Is Moments Away

If something goes wrong, stay calm and keep rolling off‑line, never stop on the circuit to assist another rider. Our Flag marshal will manage the scene, signal other riders and call in the medical crew.

A dedicated recovery vehicle collects crashed or broken‑down bikes so hazards are cleared quickly and sessions can restart safely.

Should you go down and hope to continue riding, your bike must pass a second scrutineering check before re‑entering the circuit.

Professional medics remain trackside all day, in constant radio contact with marshals, ready to respond within seconds.
